“Whether I’m down in Charleston in the legislature wearing a suit and tie, or on the job site wearing steel toes and a hardhat —

my collar will always remain blue.”

WINNING TEAM

As someone who’s actually from the working class, I’ve experienced firsthand the struggles of everyday life. I’ve faced layoffs, stood in unemployment lines, and lived paycheck to paycheck.

Early in our marriage, me and my wife relied on WIC benefits with our first child.
When work wasn’t in our area, I traveled out of town, sometimes weeks or months away from my family to make sure we kept a roof over our heads, clothes on our backs, and food on the table.

I know what it’s like to feel like the system wasn’t built for people like us — and that’s exactly why I’m fighting to change it.

West Virginians are working harder for less,

but it doesn’t need to be that way.
